I have another exciting opportunity for you. This is an internal PD event that will include the community. We need help with placing pinwheels on the lawn of our City Civic Center. If you have time and would like to come out and lend a hand on Monday, April 7th, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, we would love to have you! Here's a little more about the event:
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and we invite you to join us in front of the department (1000 Webster Street) on Monday, April 7 at 9 am, for Pinwheels for Prevention. Following a word from our speakers, we will place pinwheels on the lawn. The pinwheels represent the number of children with sustained allegations of abuse and/or neglect in Solano County last year. CASA Solano, the Child Abuse Prevention Council, Fairfield Police Department, and Solano County DA’s Office have partnered for this year’s awareness event.
Job Duties:
1. Arrive at the PD for the ceremony at 9 am- located in front of the lobby doors- 1000 Webster St
2. Once the ceremony has concluded, help place pinwheels on the Civic Center lawn to symbolize those affected by abuse allegations in our county.
3. The ceremony should only last an hour; however, you will be credited 2 volunteer hours for attending this assignment.
