Crime Analyst Volunteer

Who We Are

A crime analyst utilizes database research techniques to identify, predict and help prevent crime. By analyzing police and other data, they provide strategic, statistical and investigative support to police forces by developing ways of reducing criminal activities within specific areas. 

 

What We Do

Our Crime Analyst Volunteer will report directly to our Police Crime Analyst for all duties assigned. A maximum of 2 days per week/2 hours per shift is required for this position. 

Desired Candidates (Traits, abilities, interest in career in PD, etc)

  • Recent college graduates or college students enrolled/completing the Crime and Intelligence Analysis Certification program in need of course credits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and Word.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. (Certificate required)
  • Strict adherence to detail, excellent exhibition of communication both written and orally
  • Ability to receive and clearly execute instructions while remaining focused and adjusting to frequent interruptions with ease. 
  • Maintain punctual attendance and a professional appearance at all times. (Volunteer uniform supplied)
